Phil Soltis a.k.a. "Da Drumma"
Phil started drumming at around 14 years of age, after playing woodwinds as a child.
It all started the first time he heard the Mahavishnu Orchestra. He heard Billy Cobham play, and that was it! Drums from now on!
Not soon after, Phil planted his funk roots deep. Mainly inspired my David Garibaldi of Tower of Power.
Phil started playing in clubs & studios in Connecticut & New York through the mid '70's, and hasn't stopped yet. Still can't play like Cobham. But that isn't stoppin' him!
In the late '90's he spent a very special time with a band, entertaining our troops overseas, in such countries as Italy, Hungary, Croatia, & Bosnia.
Since then he's been back in the area clubs & studios, doin' what he loves to do.
Now as "Da Drumma" for Rubber City, he is now having an absolute blast, playin' the music he loves to play most. Big Funk!
Plus he's enjoying all the friends he's making along the way!
